The School of Sport and Health Sciences at the University of Central Lancashire is currently seeking to appoint an External Examiner for the Advanced Clinical Practice provision below starting October 2023 for a period of 4 years.
The provision consists of the:
- MSc Advanced Clinical Practitioner Degree Apprenticeship
- MSc/PG Diploma/PG Certificate Advanced Clinical Practice
Core responsibilities:
External examiner responsibilities include external moderation of assessments, including the apprenticeship end point assessment, completion of monitoring reports and attendance at Examination boards (at least 1 per year) where final awards are made to help to ensure that those recommendations have been reached by fair means according to the University’s requirements and normal practice in higher education in the United Kingdom. Remote attendance via online platforms is acceptable.
The successful candidate will have relevant experience in the area of Advancing Clinical Practice. Previous experience as an external examiner and degree apprenticeships/end point assessments is preferred.
There is an approval process independent of the course team which will also ensure there are no conflicts of interest. A right-to-work in the UK check will also be completed. Fees and Expenses are payable in line with the University policy:
The fee for the External Examiner role will be £350 paid upon submission of an annual report.
The fee for the EQA External Assessor will be £350 for each cohort of students they see through end point assessment with subsequent completion of report for each cohort of students examined.
