The School of Health Sciences, in the Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences, is looking to appoint 2 External Examiners for our pre-registration adult nursing provision.
The University of Southampton is a global leader for nursing, where students are supported by world-class educators and researchers.
We deliver programmes leading to registration as an adult nurse at undergraduate and postgraduate level, as a 2, 3 and 4 year programme. The 4-year Programme confers registration in two fields of nursing. Our programmes benefit from shared teaching and joint modules across programmes.
Therefore, we are looking to appoint an External Examiner who has experience of education at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and who enjoys working at all academic levels. Previous experience as an External Examiner is desirable but not essential, as mentoring can be provided where necessary. Applications are invited from academics who have appropriate NMC registration, expertise and experience to maintain comparability standards.
Examination Boards take place twice a year. Fees and Expenses are payable in line with the University’s External Examiners policy.
The appointments commence on 1 October 2022. For further information about the role, please do not hesitate to contact Ellen Kitson-Reynolds, Director of Programmes, by emailing E.L.Kitson-Reynolds@soton.ac.uk.
If you would like to apply for the role, please send your expression of interest and Curriculum Vitae to the Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences, Curriculum and Quality Assurance Team at fels-cqa@soton.ac.uk
