Liverpool John Moores University is seeking an inspirational, innovative, and enterprising academic to lead on the delivery of excellence in teaching, research and enterprise in the School of Psychology. A positive and creative student experience is critical to the mission of the school.
The School Director is a senior management role within the University and a key position in the Faculty structure. Reporting to the PVC for Health, the post provides a significant opportunity to lead a creative, dynamic and successful school influencing the strategic direction of both the School and Faculty and the local/regional health, skills and research agendas.

In the 2021 REF exercise, the submission improved in standing by 31 places to be ranked in 37th place. LJMU Psychology was the fourth largest from a Post 92 institution in REF2021 and achieved a rank of 8th of 45 Post 92 institutions on Research Power.

This post will provide leadership, working with colleagues, to deliver an excellent, and truly transformative, experience for all students. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for an exciting portfolio which is research informed, aligned with professional requirements, internationally facing and inspirational.
You will have a proven track record in excellent academic leadership delivering a climate which enables individuals and teams to thrive and excel. Committed to inclusion and social justice you will work with a wide range of internal and external partners. You will be adept in managing complex academic areas and have an evidenced ability to think strategically whilst also delivering operational improvements. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and ambitious Faculty leadership team.
