Liverpool John Moores University is seeking an inspirational, innovative and enterprising academic to lead on the delivery of excellence in teaching, research and enterprise in the newly formed School of Public and Allied Health, within the Faculty of Health. A positive and creative student experience is critical to the mission of the school.

As this is a new school, the Director will provide the necessary leadership to ensure cohesive team development and to recognise and enhance the synergies between the component parts.

The School Director is a senior management role within the University and a key position in the Faculty structure. Reporting to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Health, the post provides a significant opportunity to lead a creative, dynamic and successful school influencing the strategic direction of both the School and Faculty and the local/regional public health, healthcare and social care agenda.

While the school unit is new, the disciplines and activities are well established and have a successful track record. The school benefits from significant partnerships nationally and internationally and embraces its relationships with service users. The University’s Place and Partnership strategy and goals are key elements of the work within the school.

You will have a proven track record in excellent academic leadership delivering a climate which enables individuals and teams to thrive and excel. Committed to inclusion and social justice you will work with a wide range of internal and external partners. You will be adept in managing complex academic areas and have an evidenced ability to think strategically whilst also delivering operational improvements. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and ambitious Faculty leadership team.
