The Deputy Head of School is a new role, which offers the post holder opportunity to contribute to the success of the school. The role will initially focus on academic quality and working with the Head of School and staff creating a collegiate culture which emphasises growth and success of staff and students. The post holder will be pivotal in implementing and operationalising an innovative school level quality and governance structure, actively supporting staff in the change process and be responsible for the academic and PSRB quality of the school’s provision. You will work with the Head of School, and other Associate Professors to ensure that staff have a meaningful work experience and career development, and are equipped to deliver an exceptional, research informed student experience. The role will have line management responsibilities, and will provide leadership for academic planning, workload and improvement projects within the school. As part of this role, you will be supported to complete the Bradford Academic Programme, progress your career in either teaching & learning, enterprise and/ or research, working towards your professorial title and act as a role model for staff within the school.

You will bring to the role experience of successful academic leadership at a senior programme/ Faculty level. You will have experience of nurse education, hold current NMC registration and be able to see how the three subject areas of the school, nursing, public health and healthcare leadership can be used to provide a unique Bradford experience for students. You will be a people focussed leader, embodying the values of health and social care in your practice. Experience of line management, and successful people development is desirable, as is experience of innovation and research. You will be educated to doctoral level or willing to undertake this on completion of successful probation.
