About UWE

We’re on a transformational journey of change, building on our success and driving forward our Strategy 2030.

Our newly emerging College and School model will allow us to work, think and do beyond and across subject clusters, disciplines and skills sets. To break new ground by breaking down barriers internally and externally and extending our impact through strategic collaborations and partnerships.

This is a significant opportunity to join our College of Health, Science and Society, a diverse community dedicated to having a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of our population and spanning four schools and approximately 11,500 students and 500 FTE staff.

About the role
We are looking for an exceptional leader with a proven track record in the health sector to lead a dynamic and vibrant School of Health and Social Wellbeing – home to a diverse range of undergraduate and post-graduate degree programmes and research. This role forms an integral aspect of the College Executive and will connect with the other three Deans and Heads of Schools across the College.

As you will be the figurehead of this large multi-disciplinary School, you should possess extensive leadership experience and the qualities to engage, support and empower your people to achieve the best. You will take your people with you on the journey, whilst managing multiple responsibilities and, at the same time, remaining focussed on the numerous and shifting goals you are trying to achieve.

Our ideal candidate will also possess professorial experience across health and care, be able to lead through change in a sector that is continually evolving and continue to build relationships with partners, whilst placing the student at the heart of everything we do.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting welfare of our staff and students and expect all staff to share this commitment.

We value diversity at UWE and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
