Vacancy Ref. 4030 – £28,762-£34,308
The Faculty of Health has been committed to advancing developments in health and social care for over 25 years, tracing our origins back to 1991 when the Liverpool School of Nursing and Midwifery joined with Liverpool Polytechnic. Today, we continue to strive to tackle health inequalities and social exclusion and deprivation in local communities and beyond, through our undergraduate and postgraduate curricula, along with a growing programme of international partnerships and student opportunities.
Due to the unprecedented success of the Faculty, we are now seeking to appoint Clinical Skills Tutors to contribute to the development, delivery and evaluation of clinical skills, utilising a broad range of simulation-based education strategies. You will also support teaching, assessment and associated administration.
You will have the confidence and competence to teach a range of clinical skills and support simulation with experience in urgent/acute care to complement our diverse team’s skill set. Educated to degree level and/or equivalent professional qualification with experience in clinical practice, you will be able to demonstrate the current clinical knowledge, experience and assessment skills required to support the development of students, along with experience of working with students either individually or on a group basis on skills identification, awareness and development. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective working relationships with students, staff and employers. Registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) or Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or substantial professional experience is essential.
We are seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals dedicated to providing an outstanding student experience who can demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
This is your opportunity to be a key contributor to providing a high quality, exceptional and transformative educational experience for students, and be part of our continued development. We believe that LJMU is an environment that will enable your successes to be recognised, celebrated and rewarded. You will join a team of staff with significant real-world experience and expertise from a range of disciplines which means that we are able to support your endeavours and provide mentorship as you grow in your role. If you are student-focused, enthusiastic and motivated, then LJMU is an excellent place to work. You will receive a competitive salary, with high quality pension provision and excellent holidays alongside a wide range of staff social and well-being benefits.
Informal enquiries may be made to Jan Williams, email j.a.williams1@ljmu.ac.uk
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance will be required for this post at the appropriate level and Occupational Health clearance is required for the posts regulated by the NMC and HCPC (to be undertaken upon appointment).
At LJMU, we value the benefits a rich and diverse workforce brings to our community and therefore welcome applications from all sections of society. We wish you every success in your application to become part of LJMU’s successful and welcoming team of staff.
