Leeds Trinity University has embarked on the delivery of a strategic ambition to provide a range of Nursing and Allied Health Professions’ programmes to support local, regional, and national workforce demands. As such, there exists an exciting opportunity located within the growing Faculty of Social and Health Sciences to help shape the future nursing and healthcare workforce in Yorkshire. Working in collaboration with staff and students, the post holder will provide high quality clinical skills and simulation technical support including the use of SMOTs(TM) recording equipment, clinical skills task trainers and simulation manikins, in our new, purpose built Health Building which includes a six bedded simulation ward, high-dependency side room, clinical skills room, health skills lab and digitally enabled community living flat. The postholder will be responsible for risk assessment, room booking and allocations, creation and maintenance of an inventory of all equipment, including ordering of consumables, arranging servicing, replacement and minor repairs. Working under the supervision of academic staff, the postholder will also support the direct delivery of skills and simulation sessions by operating and demonstrating equipment to staff and students as appropriate. Hours of work will be 35 hours per week and a degree of flexibility is expected such as some evening and weekend working.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, collaborative, and high-performing Technician who will be educated to degree level or have previous relevant work experience and knowledge of the field. You must be able to demonstrate an interest in technical/practical-based learning, with an ability to teach basic technical skills. There will also be the potential to support student mandatory training sessions such as moving and handling, basic life support and Automated External Defibrillator (AED), training and annual updates will be provided as required.
