Edge Hill University, Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine is seeking to engage an External Examiner for the following Programme with effect from October 2022:

Programme(s): Integrated Master’s in Nursing and Social Work

To include:

  • Integrated Master’s in Adult Nursing and Social Work
  • Integrated Master’s in Mental Health Nursing and Social Work
  • Integrated Master’s in Learning Disability Nursing and Social Work
  • Integrated Master’s in Child Nursing and Social Work

Closing date: 31.7.22

External Examiners are typically placed on the Edge Hill University External Examiners Register for a period of four years. Principle duties normally include;

  • Visit the University at the least once a year to moderate assessed coursework and examination scripts
  • Attend module assessment boards
  • Produce an Annual Report
  • Review and approve examination papers that contribute to a student’s final award, and any other assessment material as agreed
  • External Examiners are also invited to engage with students in practice

We are seeking to appoint a Chief External Examiner (Social Work) to work alongside four (nursing) External Examiners, each with professional registrations for their area of responsibility:

  1. Social Work (Chief External Examiner)
  2. Adult Nursing
  3. Children’s Nursing
  4. Mental Health Nursing
  5. Learning Disabilities Nursing
