Chair in Adult Social Care Nursing

Join us in a brand new opportunity as a Chair in Adult Social Care Nursing.
The University of Salford, one of the UK’s fastest growing universities is delighted to be working in partnership with the RCN Foundation to appoint the inaugural RCN Foundation Chair in Adult Social Care Nursing.

With the adult social care sector facing funding challenges, staffing shortages and an aging population, the need for a renewed focus on nurse-led social care provision has never been more important.

The Chair in Adult Social Care Nursing will take a strategic lead in shaping professional practice, teaching and research in adult social care at a local, national, and international level, and will work closely with the Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care in England, Professor Deborah Sturdy CBE.

We have an ambitious five-year programme aimed at developing research collaborations with academic institutions and key stakeholders to expand and promote nurse-led research with a focus on adult social care nursing. Our aim is to integrate research into practice to improve care and develop the next generation of nurses in adult social care.

This is a permanent position. Following the five-year programme, the role will transition to a research/leadership role in the Directorate of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Salford.

A job description and candidate pack is attached if you’d like to know more about our vision and why we’re proud to work at Salford.

Or contact Alli Whitehouse, Senior Recruitment Consultant – a.whitehouse1@salford.ac.uk if you have any questions.

Interviews will take place on 15th April.
