Leeds Trinity University has embarked on the delivery of a range of Nursing, Allied Health Professions and Life Sciences programmes to support local, regional and national workforce demands. As such, we have an exciting opportunity for you to be instrumental in developing and leading new programmes in the Allied Health Professions. AHP is part of the growing School of Health and Life Sciences (H&LS) in the Faculty of Health, Wellness and Life Sciences, and this post will form part of the school’s leadership team.
Initially focusing on providing allied health pre-registration programmes, the intention is to grow the portfolio including apprenticeship routes, postgraduate provision and CPD, co-created alongside a range of Nursing and Life Sciences curricula. This is an exciting time for Leeds Trinity University and this role will play a key part in the developments of our Health portfolio.
Central to the role is engaging and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to develop programmes that support the health workforce and drive the widening participation agenda at Leeds Trinity University, as we recognise and embrace the diverse academic and life experiences that bring applicants into healthcare. You will work closely with stakeholders across the region, to develop the curricula and student experience that ensures our graduates become ambitious, competent, confident, compassionate and effective health professionals. You will be expected to contribute to teaching on the programme, as well as engage in research/knowledge exchange and/or professional practice.
The university has made significant investment in the specialist estate and equipment for the health and life sciences programmes, and we have added to our well-equipped sport therapy and exercise science laboratories, by creating a bespoke health building, with a technology-enabled community flat and clinical skills spaces. The estate will continue to grow, and you will be central in shaping it.
We are looking for a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registrant who is an experienced practitioner and educator. You will be an experienced course leader with expertise in curriculum development, approval and delivery, and be able to work closely and effectively with senior partners in Health and Care, regionally and beyond.
You will have, or be willing to undertake, a recognised teaching qualification (i.e., PGCHEP/PGCAP) as well as Senior Fellowship of Advance HE. You will also have a Postgraduate degree in a relevant subject area and preferably having completed or soon to be submitted PhD (or equivalent qualification or practice-based experience/qualification).
