About you: Candidates will be expected to have a PhD in the life sciences. We are looking for candidates who are a leading authority in their subject area with a substantial record for outstanding academic work and leadership externally recognised at regional, national and/or international level. Candidates will have an established and growing publication record and research outputs of a quality that is nationally and internationally excellent, including lead authorship in high quality peer reviewed articles and journals. Candidates will be expected to have an established and growing track record of securing funding from a range of sources as demonstrated by current portfolio.

We are looking for candidates who align to the UWE values. Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate their experience of leading and motivating groups of people, collegiate working and their organisational skills. Successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate how they will keep abreast of latest developments in this subject area and external best practice benchmarks.

The successful candidate will be supported in this role by an experienced Professor as a mentor. Candidates will be expected to undertake the PG Certificate in Learning and Teaching in HE unless already obtained. The Department provides staff development funds to support personal and subject related training for academic staff.

This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus.
