About the role
Reporting to the Head of School for Rehabilitation, Sport and Psychology, the successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of clinical education to occupational therapy and other health professions students within the School’s portfolio of courses. Duties will include teaching and developing students’ knowledge and skills of occupational therapy interventions; developing applied practice skills for students to apply on placements and oversee the provision of student placements liaising with local placement providers.
The post holder will undertake research in support of the School’s and institution’s research strategies and supervise students in the completion of their own research projects.
Utilising dedicated clinical teaching spaces, onsite clinical facilities and cutting-edge technology we aim to deliver courses which provide work ready graduates who excel in their chosen field.
About the person
We seek an enthusiastic and highly motivated UK registered occupational therapist with experience of working in higher education to join our team. The post holder will have excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and work in an evidence informed manner with relevant clinical experience, with support the leadership for the new MSc Occupational Therapy (pre-registration) course.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to high quality research as part of a group of staff, developing their research skills and co-authoring peer reviewed publications. They must maintain their own development as a regulated healthcare professional and educator and contribute to the enhancement of pre-registration, post-registration and CPD courses within the School’s portfolio.
