About us: The Department of Nursing and Midwifery, in the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences, University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol, is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor who is able to contribute to excellent research, practice development and teaching. In particular, you will be required to support excellence in research with impact in clinical research, professional practice, teaching and learning, and other aspects of knowledge exchange and/or knowledge transfer. Producing high quality outputs and securing external funding in line with the University’s strategic ambitions is key. In this role you will lead in an area of clinical research with links to one or more of the existing Centre for Health and Clinical Research (CHCR) themes of PROactive (pain, rehabilitation and innovation), MAMBO (musculoskeletal assessment, management, behaviour and outcomes), ACTIoN (Assessment, Care, Treatment in Neurology), Emergency Care, Knowledge Mobilisation and/or Children Young People and Families to develop a collaborative approach. You will is also be expected to establish collaboration with other Research Centres within and external to the Faculty.
About you: We are seeking someone who has completed a doctorate and has a research portfolio in an area of clinical research. Ideally you will have registration as a health professional. You will be able to demonstrate evidence of securing externally funded research grants and have a strong record of high quality published outputs. You will be able to support building research capacity and capability through working with colleagues in the Department of Nursing and Midwifery. You will also be expected to link with key regional and national initiatives relevant to nursing research including Bristol Health Partners, ARC West (Applied Research Collaboration West), AHSN (Academic Health Science Network), Council of Deans of Health and the Florence Nightingale Foundation.
