The School of Health Sciences is dedicated to the education and development of health professionals and the performance of high-quality research. It is located in one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world. The School offers students excellent academic tuition at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We offer pre-registration degrees in: Nursing, Midwifery, Radiography, Optometry, and Speech and Language therapy, while our suite of master’s programmes includes advanced courses in Nursing; Midwifery; Radiography; Optometry; Speech, Language and Communication; Health Management, Policy and research; and Food Policy.
The appointed academic will contribute to high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate nurse education, including course delivery and development, links with practice placements, management, and student support.
In addition to appointment as a Senior Lecturer, the successful candidate will also assume the leadership role of Associate Divisional Lead, supporting the Divisional Lead for Nursing and providing strategic and operational direct management of the Adult Nursing Team (approximately 18 staff). The Associate Divisional Lead appointment will be for three years initially, with annual reviews, and offers an exceptional opportunity for academic career development.
The successful candidate will hold registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council and will be able to provide high-quality education to our undergraduate and postgraduate students; demonstrating an ability to be innovative and flexible to meet the changing needs of the workforce. In addition, they will have experience of effective staff management or demonstrate the ability to do so.
For appointment on the Education & Research role profile, a record of producing world-leading or internationally excellent research is required.
