The Role
The School of Health and Care delivers an extensive range of undergraduate and post graduate courses for professionals working in health and social care settings including nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, paramedic science, operating department practice, diagnostic radiography, clinical psychology and public health. As we continue to develop our Allied Health Professions educational offer, we have been successful in securing funding to further expand our provision with the development of pre-registration education for Podiatry.

We are recruiting a Course Director for Podiatry with a vision to create and deliver an innovative pre-registration curriculum. You will lead the development and accreditation of a MSc Podiatry and Leadership (full time and apprenticeship routes). You will have academic responsibility for ensuring that the programme meets HCPC and Royal College of Podiatry standards and maintaining the accreditation of the programme.

  • Develop partnerships working with regulators, professional bodies, service users, employers, practice-based learning providers including statutory and independent sectors as part of course design and delivery.
  • Responsible for developing and sustaining relationships with stakeholders to contribute to high quality education of health and care professionals.

You will be actively involved in the delivery of teaching as part of this role.

Qualifications Required

  • Master’s degree in an appropriate subject or Honours Degree with appropriate professional qualification and/or membership
  • HCPC registrant
  • A teaching qualification or acceptance of the requirement to acquire one if not already held
  • Active membership of an appropriate professional body

Our Successful Candidate
You will need to be a HCPC registered Podiatrist, as well as having a significant and successful track record of teaching, learning and assessment practice, and experience of assessment processes at different Higher Education levels. Have strong experience of developing and delivering education programmes within the UK, and line managing academic teams within a relevant portfolio. You will have knowledge and experience of reviewing, modifying, developing and enhancing curriculum and programmes, and experience of enhancing learner satisfaction and outcomes.

You will be a highly motivated individual who will join the Allied Health Professions Development team to support the School’s vision and ambitions as a leading provider of high quality health and care education. You will work across Allied Health Profession curriculum areas to support the effective delivery of high-quality courses and promote excellence in learner experience.
