The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health is the largest School in the University. We have a broad provision of health professions related courses across Dietetics, Nursing, Midwifery, Occupational Therapy, Operating Department Practice, Paramedic and Physiotherapy all leading to professional registration. We also have a large portfolio of CPD courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Due to the continued success and growth of our prescribing suite of courses, we are seeking to recruit a committed individual who would value the opportunity to be involved in the education of the next generation of non-medical prescribers. Applicants must be a registered health professional with a prescribing qualification; we would welcome applications from nurses, AHPs and pharmacists.

As an Assistant Professor, the successful candidate will be required to lead curriculum development and innovation in teaching delivery and be continually looking to improve course content of our well established suite of post registration prescribing courses which are delivered both online and face-to-face. They will have a strong commitment to developing and maintaining productive relationships with external partners and other stakeholders. They will also need a high level of inter-personal skills and personal effectiveness to promote a high-quality experience for all of our students. Their teaching approach will be flexible, student-centred and research informed. Previous experience of teaching within a higher education institution is highly desirable.

The University offers academic and professional development and provides a Post Graduate Certificate Teaching Qualification for individuals who do not hold a recognised teaching qualification.
