An external examiner is required for the MSc Public Health (and its interim awards). The academic course (which can be taken on a full or part-time basis) accounts for the scope of contemporary public health and attracts International and UK students from a wide range of professional and study backgrounds. Around 25 students in total are registered for the course and single units of CPD study on an annual basis.

Applications are sought from those with relevant academic expertise and experience in public health. The external examiner post tenure is normally 4 years.

The programme is to be revalidated in 2022 but the person undertaking the role currently is responsible for reviewing the following units:

  • Context and Scope of Public Health
  • Epidemiology and Infection
  • Health Promotion and Partnership Working
  • Public Health Management Strategies
  • Exploring & Evaluating Evidence
  • Developing a Study Proposal
  • Dissertation
