We are seeking to recruit an experienced and dynamic academic to lead the Social Work and Social Care Subject Community within the School of Health and Social Care. In this role, the Academic Subject Lead will lead an experienced team of academics to drive forward our provision to deliver a dynamic portfolio of flexible, innovative and current Social Work and Social Care programmes. You will need strong academic and leadership experience, ideally having driven programme design and development within undergraduate, post graduate and apprenticeship provision. We welcome applicants able to demonstrate experience of developing people to create inclusive communities and working practices for our students, staff and stakeholders.

The Academic Subject Leader for Social Work and Social Care will work alongside the Head of School, Senior Leadership team, Experts by Experience, Collaborative Partners, and other stakeholders to lead and develop Social Work and Social Care education that delivers excellence in practice and high-quality outcomes. The Academic Subject Leader will be responsible for leading and creating a vibrant subject community for staff and students, informed by best evidence-based practice, coproduced with partners and service users. They will work across teams to deliver clear plans to enhance learning, lead academic teams and deliver quality educational practice.

The School of Health and Social Care will be relocating from its current premises on Oxstalls Campus to the City Campus, a new development for the University that will be a focal point of Gloucester City, and a modern centre for teaching learning and community partnerships. It is anticipated that the campus will be operating from September 2023.
