UWE Bristol, School of Health and Social Wellbeing is seeking three Field External Examiners to support modules within Adult Nursing. The post will be for 4 years commencing on 01/10/2024 and includes the need to attend various examination boards.
Essential: Applicants must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
The subject cluster requires Field External Examiners to represent a range of academic perspectives within the Adult Nursing subject area, the three portfolios will consist of some of the following modules:
Adult Nurse 1:
- Collaborative Approaches to Effective Pain Management
- Critical Care in Practice
- Enhancing Practice in Burn Care
- Introduction to Emergency Care
- Mastering Emergency Care
- Principles of Critical Care
- Principles of Neurosciences
- Principles of Perioperative Care
Adult Nurse 2:
- Care of the Adult with Diabetes
- Chronic and Acute Care Management of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Dementia: Principles of Care
- Fundamental Principles of Dementia Care
- Principles of Dementia Care
- Public Health and Health Promotion for Professional Practice
- Stroke Care
Adult Nurse 3:
- Dual Diagnosis: Substance Misuse and Mental Health
- Family and Carer Work for Serious Mental Illness
- Medication Management in Mental Health Practice
- Mental Health and Well-being of Children and Young People
- Motivational Interviewing: Strategies for Lifestyle Changes
- Principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Solution Focused Practice – Developing Empowering Conversations with People
- Supporting and Managing those at Risk of Suicide
- The Social and Policy Context of Mental Health Nursing
- Working With A Person Experiencing Mental Health Crisis
