An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Physiotherapy team within the School of Health and Social Work as the Programme Leader for the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy programme.

Main duties and responsibilities
You will be responsible for leading the programme at the University. You will utilise current evidence-base to underpin teaching and learning activities and will lead the development and reviews of the programme including inter-professional developments and teaching across the School and lead curriculum developments drawing on the recommendations from the KNOWBEST project.
In addition to this you will take a pro-active role with the monitoring of academic standards, the needs of regulatory and professional bodies, the reports of external examiners, other external evaluations, the recommendations of university committees, and the result of student feedback questionnaires. This role will also require you to act as chair of the Programme Committee and help to organise its meetings, including staff and student representation in liaison with the relevant manager. You will need to liaise with and maintain good relationships with colleagues across the School and University.

Skills and Experience
You will have a broad experience of physiotherapy practice and demonstrate a sustained interest and knowledge of contemporary physiotherapy issues and experience of engaging in scholarly projects in pedagogic and/or research activity for the growth and enhancement of knowledge in physiotherapy. In addition to this you will have a commitment to educational developments in physiotherapy and experience of partnership working with key stakeholders, provider organisations, employers as well as service users and carers and students.
It is essential that you have good oral and written communication skills and be proficient in the English language. You will demonstrate a willingness to support physiotherapy research and are able to work effectively as part of a team. You will be able to work without close supervision, be organised, take initiative and be self-motivating, and be adaptable to change and flexible in your approach.

Qualifications required
In the role of Programme Leader you will hold a BSc (Hons), or equivalent qualification, in Physiotherapy; Post-graduate qualification (Master’s degree or above), or equivalent qualification, in a relevant subject area; be registered with the HCPC as a physiotherapist and a member of the CSP; and hold Fellowship of AdvanceHE.
