The School of Nursing and Advanced Practice has been established to enhance the focus on undergraduate and postgraduate nursing and advanced multidisciplinary practice. Situated in the Faculty of Health, the School plays a key role in the development of the current and future health workforce. The educational portfolio is significant and increasing each year with various local, regional, and national programmes. The School plays a pivotal role in the regional nursing workforce development agenda and participates with multiple agencies to address current and potential challenges.

The Faculty of Health strives to tackle health inequalities, social exclusion, and deprivation in local communities and beyond, through our undergraduate and postgraduate curricula, along with a growing programme of international partnerships and student opportunities. There is a developing culture of multidisciplinary research in the School which is poised for additional growth and funding. Following our recent growth across the Faculty of Health and our Research Excellence Framework results, we are delighted to be recruiting an additional Professor of Nursing to facilitate the continued expansion of our research portfolio in the School of Nursing and Advanced Practice.

We are seeking to appoint a research leader to provide academic leadership of the growing research portfolio with line management of academic staff engaged in teaching, research, and enterprise. You will have a Ph.D., an outstanding record of attracting externally competitive research funding, publications, and research student supervision. Working with the Associate Deans, School Directors, Subject Heads, Professional Support colleagues and academic colleagues you will inspire best practice, acting as a key leader and expert advisor. You will be an authority in the nursing profession, have a strong profile in education, research and innovation, who will benefit from the excellent relationships that we hold with our partners across the university, health, social care, and commercial sectors. You will inspire junior colleagues and provide excellent mentorship opportunities to enable them to develop. In return we will provide you with the opportunities necessary for you to reach your goals.

This is your opportunity to be a key contributor to providing a high quality, exceptional and transformative educational experience for students, and be part of our continuing successful trajectory. We believe that LJMU is an environment that will enable your successes to be recognised, celebrated, and rewarded. You will join a team of staff with significant real-world experience and expertise from a range of disciplines which means that we are able to support your endeavours and provide mentorship as you grow in your role.
