Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a distinctive, unique institution, rooted in the Liverpool City Region and with a global presence. Our students and staff, past, present, and future, are the beating heart of our city and can be found in every corner of every industry and community. We couldn’t exist anywhere else and have shaped the city in which we belong. Working with the people of Liverpool to improve lives and support communities is at the heart of why we were founded and why we exist today.
The School of Nursing and Advanced Practice has been established to enhance the focus on undergraduate and postgraduate nursing and advanced multidisciplinary practice. Situated in the Faculty of Health, the School plays a key role in the development of the current and future health workforce. The educational portfolio is significant and increasing each year with various local, regional, and national programmes. The School plays a pivotal role in the regional nursing workforce development agenda and participates with multiple agencies to address current and potential challenges.
The Faculty of Health strives to tackle health inequalities, social exclusion, and deprivation in local communities and beyond, through our undergraduate and postgraduate curricula, along with a growing programme of international partnerships and student opportunities. There is a developing culture of multidisciplinary research in the School which is poised for additional growth and funding. Following our recent growth across the Faculty of Health and our Research Excellence Framework results, we are delighted to be recruiting an additional Professor of Nursing to facilitate the continued expansion of our research portfolio in the School of Nursing and Advanced Practice.
