The University of Suffolk is seeking an External Examiner for the following courses:
- PgD Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (Health Visiting); (School Nursing); (Occupational Health – subject to validation)
- Degree apprenticeships for the above 3 pathways subject to validation**
- MSc Public Health Nursing (Progression Route).
**The successful candidate will perform External Examiner duties for the apprenticeship courses and the End-Point Assessment.
In their role as External Examiner of the End-Point Assessment, the successful candidate will play an important role in helping us to maintain the rigour and quality of our apprenticeships and ensuring that they continue to operate in accordance with internal and external policies and procedures. Therefore, the successful candidate(s) will be required to:
Meet with internal staff, apprentices and employers;
Conduct at least one visit for each cohort of apprenticeships completing an EPA (these may be conducted online);
Attend the assessment board where final EPA decisions are made;
Complete an enhanced External Examiner’s report to cover the quality assurance areas of the EPA;

Tenure: 4 years starting from: 01 September 2024.
Please note that to avoid clashes of interest we cannot accept candidates from:
- Brunel University London
Candidates need to be:
- NMC registered (SCPHN)
- experienced in the design, delivery and management of cognate courses in an UK HEI to at least the level of the course being examined;
- a UK resident;
- not the holder of more than one other EE position as of 01 September 2024
