All members of the AHP community need to be aware of the competencies required for their role as an educator. They should ensure that they engage with any opportunities to achieve these competencies, They should reflect on their capabilities and identify areas for future development.
Steps for development in this domain could be to:
- Take part in observed teaching and other education activities on a regular basis
- Participate in regular peer review of facilitated education practice
- Complete comprehensive session plans for facilitated education activities
- Adhere to the principles of inclusivity, anti-racism and co-production
- Keep proper records and evaluate the impact of facilitated education
- If you’re a Registered practitioner, retain overall responsibility for student AHPs development
