Nation and region groups

The voice of members is strengthened by the Council working through the Council of Deans of Health England, the Council of Deans of Health Scotland, the Council of Deans of Health Wales / Cyngor Deoniaid Iechyd Cymru and the Council of Deans of Health Northern Ireland, reflecting the devolved nature of health higher education policy. 

The current Nation groups are

Council of Deans of Health Scotland is the independent and strategic voice of education and research for nurses, midwives and allied health professionals in Scotland’s universities.

Council of Deans of Health England provides a forum for representatives from England’s regions to discuss operational and policy matters pertaining to England, to share local experiences and provide advice to the Council, particularly on matters relating to workforce policy and planning. Each region is represented by its chair or representative as nominated by the regional deans groups.

Council of Deans of Health Wales / Cyngor Deoniaid Iechyd Cymru is the strategic voice of university faculties in Wales engaged in nursing, midwifery and allied health profession education and research.

Highlighting the value and importance of nursing, midwifery, and AHP research and research roles in tackling real life health challenges and inequalities as well as increasing research capacity and capability for our members.
