We are thrilled to offer two exciting opportunities to become part of our expanding Physiotherapy academic team at the University of Northampton:
- Vacancy 1: 0.85 FTE (31.45 hours per week) permanent post
- Vacancy 2: 0.6 FTE (22.2 hours per week) maternity cover position, fixed-term for 12 months or until the return of the current post-holder, whichever is sooner.
These positions are perfect for individuals with experience in clinical practice or university settings who are passionate about teaching and supporting students in their academic and professional development.
You’ll be joining the team at a pivotal time of growth. Following good recruitment for our MSc Physiotherapy (Pre-Registration) course, we are set to launch our brand-new BSc Physiotherapy and BSc Physiotherapy Apprenticeship courses in September 2025.
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver high-quality teaching on our physiotherapy programmes.
- Support students’ development through teaching, personal academic tutoring, dissertation supervision, and module leadership.
- Participate in admissions, placement visits, recruitment interviews, and open days.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the faculty and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.

Whilst remote working is available for this post the number of days per week will vary during each semester depending on the requirements of the post, this will be discussed in more detail at interview.

We are looking for a candidate with a genuine passion for teaching and supporting the development of student physiotherapists.
You will be dedicated, innovative and a collaborative team member, with a clear focus on both student development and your own professional growth.
This passion will be demonstrated through your experience working with students, whether as an educator/mentor in clinical practice or within a university setting. Your commitment to high standards, combined with a transparent and open approach to your work, will reflect your suitability for this post.
You must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and have experience working in UK healthcare settings.
Essential
- Degree qualification or equivalent
- HCPC Physiotherapist registered
Desirable
- Master’s degree
- Doctorate, completed or within 12 months
- Professional Recognition as HEA Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain within an agreed timescale of completion
