Edinburgh Napier University is seeking to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified academic to act as External Examiner for the BSc Nursing Studies (home) programme and associated modules. This one-year full-time programme offers a professional development opportunity for nurses who have a Diploma of Nursing from outside the UK and wish to enhance their career opportunities by attaining a degree qualification.
The successful applicant is expected to provide external examination for this programme and cover six modules. The applicant should be registered on the appropriate part of the NMC register. Knowledge of pre-registration nursing programmes is required and previous experience in external examining is desirable.
The appointment will commence in time for September 2025, and the tenure is for a period of four years. All External Examiner appointments are subject to the candidate meeting the University’s criteria for appointment. External Examiners are expected to attend Board meetings and submit an annual report.
