We are currently recruiting for an experienced and innovative Course Director to lead a portfolio of Nursing and Healthcare provision in the School of Health at Leeds Beckett University.
The School of Health is a vibrant school comprising a diverse range of disciplines and programmes – including Nursing and Healthcare, Allied Health Professions, Biomedical Science and Public Health and Social Work.
The Nursing and Healthcare subject area offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate provision, including apprenticeships and collaborative courses. We pride ourselves on the close working partnerships with our students and external partner employers to create the nursing leaders of the future.

Purpose of the role
The post of Course Director has overall responsibility for the management and performance of a course (and/or group of courses) to which they are assigned. As a member of academic staff they will make an active contribution to teaching, research/enterprise and professional engagement in their subject area.
Key responsibilities include:
1. To provide course leadership, organisation and management which ensures an excellent education and experience for students.
2. To lead on course and curriculum development and delivery within Nursing and Healthcare.
3. To lead excellence of learning, teaching and assessment delivery on the course/group of courses.
4. To recommend to the Head of Subject required staffing and deployment for the courses.
5. In collaboration with the Head of Subject, monitor and lead the response to course key performance measures, through standard quality processes including:
– Recruitment and admissions.
– Student continuation, attainment and progression.
– Effective student support and academic advice.
– Student experience including NSS
– Liaising with External Examiner to ensure timely appointments, high quality reports and responses.
6. To provide leadership on compliance of the courses with regulatory requirements, including internal quality assurance and external regulators, such NMC and Ofsted.
7. To undertake any such duties as may be specified by the Head of Subject or Dean of School.
