The Role
As Assistant Professor (Teaching) in Learning Disabilities Nursing, you will be a senior member of the education team, coordinating courses and modules while delivering teaching and assessment. You will support the development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programmes, ensuring a high quality student learning experience.
Based at Coventry University, you will work closely with academic colleagues to enhance teaching and embed relevant research, enterprise, professional practice within modules and courses.
Duties include:
- Act as Course Director within Nursing portfolio
- Leading and teaching modules at HE levels 4–7, including developing teaching materials, delivering varied learning sessions and supporting students throughout teaching blocks
Qualifications Required
- Active and live registration with NMC as Learning Disabilities Nurse.
- Practice Assessor and/or academic assessor training and experience of supporting student nurses.
- Master’s degree in appropriate subject or a good Honours Degree (if from a professional practice background) with appropriate professional qualification and/or membership.

You will bring strong leadership experience from higher education and/or clinical practice, with proven record of effective teaching at HE levels 4–7 in Learning Disabilities Nursing and high standards in teaching, learning and student engagement.
Motivated and enthusiastic, you will demonstrate experience in leading and enhancing active learning approaches, with evidence of supporting student success.
