We’re hosting a workshop with the NMC to contribute to the early stages of the NMC Code Review. The Code presents the professional standards of practice and behaviour that nurses, midwives and nursing associates must uphold in order to be registered to practise in the UK.

After a short introduction to the NMC’s Code review, you’ll be split into small groups to discuss how you use the Code currently and what changes you’d like to see for the future. The NMC says, “An up-to-date Code is necessary to assure continued public confidence in the profession and a clear framework for accountability and professionalism in a rapidly changing health and care environment.

A modernised Code will set clearer standards in areas where practice has changed over the past decade. This is likely to include areas such as equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), artificial intelligence, behaviour outside of professional practice and use of social media.”
