Who is collaborating on this project?
This project is a collaboration between Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust and the associated Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board.
This project involves working with local allied health clinicians to help to develop clinical academic capacity and capability.
What does the collaboration involve?
- Targeting 10% of the local AHP workforce to engage with clinical academic activities.
- Supporting clinicians in applying for fellowships and grants.
- Working to understand the barriers to research for clinicians, and showcasing the benefits of research to service outcomes.
- Funding for a Professor of Allied Health as a secondment from ARU to lead research development across the organisation, including mentoring, regional networking and developing internal research infrastructure.
What are the next steps?
The team plans to use learning in the AHP Partnership Hub to develop sustained models of workforce in rural and coastal areas.
