Racism and discrimination are key challenges in the health and social care with wide-ranging implications for workplace culture, recruitment and retention and the delivery of care. To achieve racial equity in healthcare, anti-racism must be embedded from the beginning, including within healthcare workforce learning and development.
This podcast explores the anti-racist agenda in Wales, through its Anti-Racist Wales Action Plan and its application in health and social care. The podcast is facilitated by Diana De, alumna of the Council’s Fellowship Scheme, and is joined by Professor Anton Emmanuel who led NHS England’s Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) and recently joined the NHS Wales Shared Service Partnership to lead on the implementation of the WRES in Wales.
