The University of Northampton is looking for an External Examiner for BA (Hons) Social Care and Community Practice (SCCP).
The BA programme is seeking an External Examiner to commence the role for the 24/25 academic year. SCCP comprises theoretical, academic and practice learning elements into a three-year full-time programme. The Social Care and Community Practice Degree is underpinned by practical experience that equips students for employment either within Social Care or working with specific communities. Students will have opportunities to engage with core concepts including Human Rights, Social Justice, respecting diversity and well- being developing the skills and knowledge to work with a range of Service Users.
We are looking for someone:
- who is suitably qualified with expertise in the above areas, ideally a Programme Leader or Senior Lecturer on similar programmes;
- previous experience as an external examiner is preferred but not essential
- who can provide developmental feedback to the academic team, comment on the quality of feedback given to students, offer support in reviewing the programme and commit to the overarching ‘critical friend’ element of the External Examiner role.
The appointment will be for the three academic years 2024 to 2027, from 1 October 2024 (with a potential of 4 years).
