The Clinical Skills Technician will be part of the Clinical Skills Technician Team and work closely with academic staff, technicians, and external teaching providers in organising, coordinating and preparing the facilities, equipment and resources for teaching and training activities across the University campuses/ sites. Clinical Skills Technicians play an essential role in organising and ensuring that appropriate equipment and other resources are available to support teaching sessions and other activities for the various healthcare professions. This includes organising and setting up the daily equipment and technical elements required for all the courses, being able to use and provide support for a range of equipment and resources, administration duties and maintaining the multiple facilities/ centres as fit for purpose.
The postholder will be required to ensure effective ordering of resources, undertake stock control and maintenance of equipment. This will also include ensuring compliance with Health and Safety requirements of equipment and substances hazardous to health (COSHH). Where required, Clinical Skills Technicians will demonstrate and train others in the use of the equipment and resources.
The post holder will also be required to maintain a safe learning environment and may participate in the running of clinical skills and simulation scenarios. This will be a varied, interesting, and challenging role, which will require a proactive and flexible approach to meet competing priorities, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
