External Examiners

The University of East Anglia offers two routes to studying Occupational Therapy (BSc and MSc). An opportunity currently exists for an External Examiner to provide external review for our MSc Occupational Therapy programme. This is a two-year accelerated pre-registration route programme with intakes in February each year. The successful candidate will be an academic with professional registration as an Occupational Therapist.

Examiners play a central role in the maintenance of the standards of the University’s awards and the currency of the curriculum.

Applications are invited from suitably experienced and qualified academics. Whilst applications from experienced External Examiners are preferred, anyone with appropriate educational and professional experience would be considered. The appointment will be for four years from February 2026.

The successful applicants will be invited to attend an induction day prior to commencement of the role.

Responsibilities include:
Commenting on draft assessment guidelines, commenting on draft examination papers, reviewing samples of students’ work, pre-Exam Board meetings, attending meetings of examiners (up to two per year), and submitting an annual report and engagement with programme team in the continuous development of the programmes.
