External Examiner vacancy for Non-Medical Prescribing (V300) and Community Practitioner Nurse Prescribing (V100/V150)

The School of Healthcare and Nursing Science at Northumbria University is seeking to appoint an External Examiner for Non-Medical Prescribing (V300) and Community Practitioner Nurse Prescribing (V100/V150)

The post holder will be the lead examiner for the programme and will moderate the following modules:

  • AC6709 Community Practitioner Prescribing for Nurses and Midwives (V150)
  • AC6710 Non-Medical Prescribing (V300)
  • AC6765 Non-Medical Prescribing V300
  • AC7065 Community Practitioner Prescribing for Nurses and Midwives (V100)
  • AC7066 Non-Medical Prescribing (V300)
  • AC7067 Community Practitioner Prescribing for Nurses and Midwives (V150)
  • AC7112 Non-Medical Prescribing V300

As external examiner you will be responsible for contributing to the quality assurance of the programme. You will be involved in approving assessment tasks, moderating student work, completion of an annual report and may be invited to attend examination boards. You may be asked to provide comments on proposed modifications and the development of new modules.

Applicants must hold a Nursing & Midwifery Council Registration and programme aligned academic qualifications. It is preferable to have previous experience as external examiner/assessor although support and guidance can be provided for those new to the role. Full course details and documentation will be provided on appointment.

The School cannot currently accept applications from the following institutions nor when there is an existing professional association between the applicant and a member of academic staff:

  • For apprenticeship programmes: please ensure your relevant occupational experience & professional body registrations are evident;
  • A covering paragraph (max 500 words) outlining your suitability, noting any association with Northumbria.
