The School of Health and Life Sciences is seeking to appoint a Pre-registration Adult Nursing external examiner to a range of modules within our BSc (Hons) Pre-registration Adult Nursing programme. The remit involves assessment of modules relating to:
- NURS09250 Adult Nursing Practice 3a
- NURS09251 Adult Nursing Practice 3b (Honours)
- NURS09252 Adult Nursing Practice 3b
- NURS09253 Adult Nursing Practice 3c with Progression
- NURS09254 Applied Evidence for Nursing Practice
- NURS09255 Consolidating Adult Nursing Care
- NURS09256 Holistic Care in Adult Nursing
- NURS10038 Adult Nursing Practice Honours Progression
- NURS10039 Complex Care in Ageing and Frailty
- NURS10040 Mental Health in Adult Healthcare
- NURS10041 Recognising & Responding to Deterioration
External examiner responsibilities include moderation of assessment methods/samples/results and completion of an annual report. A schedule of module confirmation events per academic session will be made available and external examiners would be expected to complete external moderation in line with these dates. The School uses an electronic marking system associated with the originality checking programme Turnitin, called Grademark. External examiners are required to make use of the system during the external moderation process (this being accessible through the Virtual Learning Environment).
Experienced and new external examiners will be considered provided the applicant has the relevant professional qualification(s) and experience. Relevant professional experience in the fields of pre-registration adult nursing, professional registration and a valid teaching qualification are essential requirements for this post.
The appointment will be with effect from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2029.
