External Examiner – Nursing Programme

Institution:

The International College Dundee (ICD) is an embedded college of the University of Dundee, providing integrated pathway programmes that enable international students to progress to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
ICD is seeking to appoint an External Examiner in Nursing to support the following programmes:

International Incorporated Bachelor’s – International Stage 1 (IS1): Nursing
International Incorporated Master’s (IIM): Nursing and Health

The appointment will be for four years, commencing in the 2025–26 academic year and concluding in 2029/30.

Person specification

Applicants should:

  • Have experience of teaching and examining Nursing programmes at a UK higher education institution
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of quality assurance in UK HE, including the QAA Quality Code
  • Possess appropriate subject expertise in Nursing
  • Ideally be familiar with international or pathway programmes and progression into Nursing degrees

Role and responsibilities

Duties will include:

  • Moderation of assessed work
  • Attendance at two Examination Boards per year
  • Submission of an annual External Examiner report
