The School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Worcester is seeking an experienced academic as External Examiner for the MSc Midwifery (Shortened) blended learning programme and the CPD module: Systematic Physical Examination of the Newborn.

The University requires that external examiners have qualifications at least equal to the programme being examined, therefore must have:
- Nursing and Midwifery Council registration as a Midwife with relevant subject knowledge and experience as a Midwife (essential)
- a MSc in a relevant subject (essential)
- Systematic Examination of the Neonatal qualification and experience teaching or working in this role (essential)
- Applicants should be employed within a university appointment (essential)
- Applicants must not have been a University of Worcester examiner within the last five years (essential)
The post holder will be required to:-
- Review and approve coursework assignments.
- Quality assure the standards of student performance.
- Review proposed course changes and claims for recognition of prior learning.
- Meet with students and practice partners.
- Attend the Board of Examiners.
- Provide an annual report to the University of Worcester.
The University of Worcester offers support for external examiners and a full induction day, scheduled for Tuesday, 9th February 2027.

The appointment will be with effect from September 2026 for a term of four academic years.
