The Department of Nursing, Midwifery and Health is seeking to appoint an External Examiner for BSc (Hons) / MSc Nursing Science (Child) and Return to Professional Practice (child). The post holder will be the non-lead examiner for the programme and will moderate the following modules:
- CN0407 Introduction to Children and Young People’s Health and Illness
- CN0512 Perspectives of Complex Care in Children and Young People’s Nursing
- CN0704 Applied Life Science for Children and Young Person’s Nursing
- CN0706 Assessing and planning for complex on-going needs in Children and Young Person’s Nursing
- DA5066 Perspectives of Complex Care in Children and Young People’s Nursing
- NS0425 Nursing Skills 2: Development of Communication Skills and Nursing Interventions
- NS0524 Practice Module 2: Developing Shared Decision Making
- NS0621 Practice Module (3) Leadership, Quality and Team Work
- AC6736 Return to Practice Nursing and Midwifery – moderates for child nursing only

As external examiner you will be responsible for contributing to the quality assurance of the programme. You will be involved in approving assessment tasks, moderating student work, completion of an annual report and may be invited to attend examination boards. You may be asked to provide comments on proposed modifications and the development of new modules.
Applicants should hold appropriate professional registration and academic qualifications. It is preferable to have previous experience as external examiner/assessor although support and guidance can be provided for those new to the role.
