The School of Healthcare and Nursing Science at Northumbria University is seeking to appoint an External Examiner/Assessor for HA/PGDip Community Specialist Practitioner, Return to Practice District Nursing and External Assessor for End Point Assessment for ST1419 v2.

The post holder will be the lead examiner for the programme and will moderate the following modules:

AC7128 Advanced Clinical Assessment Skills for Community Specialist Practice
AC7129 Advancing Community Specialist Practice Through Leadership
AC7137 Transforming Community Specialist Practice through Research, Policy, Evidence and Evaluation
HA7026 Transforming Community Specialist Practice through Research, Policy, Evidence and Evaluation
HA7030 Advanced Clinical Assessment Skills for Community Specialist Practice
HA7031 Advancing Community Specialist Practice Through Leadership
HA7032 Enhancing Care for Adults Living with frailty and multimorbidity across the life course
HA7039 Transforming Community Specialist Practice through Research, Policy, Evidence and Evaluation
End Point Assessment

As external examiner you will be responsible for contributing to the quality assurance of the programme. You will be involved in approving assessment tasks, moderating student work, completion of an annual report and may be invited to attend examination boards. You may be asked to provide comments on proposed modifications and the development of new modules.

Applicants should hold appropriate professional registration and academic qualifications. It is preferable to have previous experience as external examiner/assessor although support and guidance can be provided for those new to the role. Full course details and documentation will be provided on appointment.

As External Assessor you will operate in line with current External Quality Assurance of Apprenticeship End-Point Assessment for Integrated Higher and Degree Apprenticeships guidance (https://www.officeforstudents.org.uk/publications/external-quality-assurance-of-apprenticeship-end-point-assessment-for-integrated-higher-and-degree-apprenticeships/). You will be involved in activities listed in section 44-48 of the guidance. Applicants should be independent of apprentices and the employing organisation.
