External Examiner: Advanced Wound Care PGCert Programme

The School of Nursing and Advanced Practice at Liverpool John Moores University is looking to appoint an academic to join our team of External Examiners for our PGCert Advanced Wound Care programme.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced academics who have experience within wound care education. All appointments are subject to the candidate meeting the University’s criteria for appointment. The appointment will normally be for a period of 4 years. Applicants should hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Suitable candidates will:

  • Be employed in Higher Education.
  • Have experience in delivering clinical education and wound care.
  • Have experience in designing, delivering, and assessing Level 7 provision.
  • Usually have previous External Examiner experience.
  • Be resident and have the right to work in the UK.

Duties will include:

  • Moderating samples of essay scripts and other assessed materials
  • Advising the programme teams on the content and standard of assessments
  • Completion of module reports and a yearly programme report.
  • Liaising with other external examiners at LJMU.
  • Attendance at the Board of Examiners as required
