The School of Nursing, Public and Allied Health at Liverpool John Moores University is looking to appoint an academic to join our team of External Examiners for two collaborative programmes delivered by our partner organisation, The Walton Centre. They are small programmes consisting of 1 module each. Acute and Chronic Neurosciences, Care and Management is delivered once per academic year and Complex Rehabilitation in a Multidisciplinary Context is delivered twice.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced academics who have experience relevant to this discipline. All appointments are subject to the candidate meeting the University’s criteria for appointment. The appointment will normally be for a period of 4 years. Applicants should hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council or HCPC.
Suitable candidates will:
- Be employed in Higher Education
- Have experience in delivering relevant programmes
- Ideally have experience in designing, delivering, and assessing Level 7 provision.
- Usually have previous External Examiner experience.
- Preferably have some experience of collaborative provision
- Be resident and have the right to work in the UK.
Duties will include:
- Moderating samples of essay scripts and other assessed materials
- Advising the programme teams on the content and standard of assessments
- Completion of module reports and a yearly programme report.
- Liaising with other external examiners at LJMU.
- Attendance at the Board of Examiners as required
