The School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Worcester is seeking an experienced and qualified academic to serve as an External Advisor (EA) for a major modification of the FdSc Nursing Associate programme.
This programme was originally approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in 2019 for delivery at the University of Worcester via both fee-paying and apprenticeship routes. In 2024, the apprenticeship route was further approved for delivery at Dudley Colleges (a University of Worcester satellite campus), and a fee-paying route is planned for this site from September 2026.
The School of Nursing and Midwifery was awarded a ‘Good’ OFSTED outcome in May 23 which includes the FdSc Apprenticeship.
The programme is undergoing a major modification against the existing NMC standards and key NHS drivers to ensure currency and to meet the evolving needs of the population, employer needs, and national priorities for workforce development.
The major modification event has been requested for w/c 20th April 2026. It is anticipated that this will be an online event (subject to confirmation) If travel and/or accommodation is required expenses will be covered by the university.
