External Advisor: Approval of BSc and Level 6 apprenticeship courses in Operating Department Practice (ODP) at the University of Worcester.

The School of Health and Wellbeing is seeking to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified academic to act as External Advisor at the approval event for a new course scheduled to take place on Thursday 5th March 2026, via MS Teams.

We are looking for an external advisor:

  • An ‘EA2’ who will be a panel member, commenting on documents and supporting the panel with the decision to recommend approval.

The University specifies that External Advisors should have relevant experience in Higher Education teaching at the appropriate level-normally at least 3 years, in a capacity as course leader or similar. Applicants should have knowledge of operating department practice (ODP).

In addition, external advisors should not usually have (or have had within the last 5 years) any professional relationship with the University of Worcester (or partner institutions) or staff involved in the course undergoing reapproval.

All appointments are subject to the candidate meeting the University’s criteria for appointment. A fee of £250 is payable following engagement in reviewing documentation and attendance at the approval meeting.
