This joint online event, Placements: Barriers and Enablers, brings together members of the Council of Deans of Nursing and Midwifery, Australian Council of Deans of Health Sciences, and Council of Deans of Health for a focused cross-sector conversation on the future of clinical and professional placements. Featuring brief perspectives from speakers in New Zealand, Australia, and the UK, the session will explore the key barriers and enabling factors shaping placement delivery today, including challenges related to placement hours, workforce capacity, and the growing complexity of student and service needs. Alongside these insights, the event will prioritise networking and discussion time, creating space for colleagues to share experiences, compare approaches, and exchange examples of good practice.
