External Examiner – MNurs Dual Field Nursing Programmes

The School of Nursing, Public and Allied Health at Liverpool John Moores University wishes to appoint an academic to the post of External Examiner for our MNurs Dual Field Nursing Programmes (Adult/Children’s Nursing, Mental Health/Children’s Nursing and Adult/Mental Health Nursing).

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced lecturers. All appointments are subject to the candidate meeting the University’s criteria for appointment. The appointment will normally be for a period of 4 years. Applicants should hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Suitable candidates will:

  • Be employed in Higher Education
  • Have experience in designing, delivering and assessing Level 4, 5, 6 and 7 provision.
  • Ideally have experience in dual field nursing.
  • Usually have previous External Examiner experience.
  • Be resident and have the right to work in the UK.

Duties will include:

  • Moderating samples of essay scripts and other assessed materials, advising the programme teams on the content and standard of assessments
  • Completion of module reports and a yearly programme report.
  • Liaising with other external examiners at LJMU.
  • Attendance at the Board of Examiners as required.
