External Examiner – Preregistration Nursing (Adult)

The School of Nursing is seeking two qualified nurse educators to undertake the role of external examiners for Preregistration Nursing Adult Nursing BSc (Hons) and MSc. An experienced external examiner would be preferred, but those seeking a first post and having relevant clinical and educational experience would also be considered. Applicants must hold current NMC registration in the appropriate field for which they are applying and hold a recognised teaching qualification.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Have relevant academic and/or professional qualifications to at least the level of the qualification being externally examined, and/or extensive practitioner experience where appropriate.
  • Have experience and knowledge of UK Higher Education in the subject area (teaching and assessing on UK HE awards).
  • Have UK residency.
  • Must not have worked at Kingston University or have been a student or have any association with the University in the last 5 years.
  • Must not hold more than one other EE appointment elsewhere.
  • Must not have a close contractual or personal relationship with a member of staff or student involved with the programme of study.
  • Further criteria checks will be completed following a successful application.
  • This will be for a period of 5 academic years starting from 1st September 2026.
