Bournemouth University is urgently seeking to appoint an External Examiner for our BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing programme with immediate effect. The period of appointment will be for a period of four years and the fee paid to External Examiners per year is £450. The University provides an External Examiner Induction/Briefing seminar in November and March each year to support those new to external examining and experienced External Examiners.

The ideal academic candidate for this post will have previous experience as an External Examiner in pre-registration undergraduate programmes (although support will be provided to exceptional candidates without this prior experience) and should be currently active in educational delivery and research within the field of Adult Nursing.
As External Examiner, your duties would include:
- External moderation of a range of assignments
- Review proposed assessment briefs to determine their appropriateness
- Visit to BU to look at resources and meet staff and students
- Submission of an annual report to the Academic Quality department
- Attendance at Assessment Boards online or in-person (usually x3 a year)
- Advising on matters such as programme review and/or modifications
