External Examiners- Masters in Clinical Research/Masters in Health and Social Care Research (MClinRes/MRes) programme

The University of Manchester is seeking to appoint two external examiners: a combined programme and subject external examiner and a subject external examiner for the Masters in Clinical Research/Masters in Health and Social Care Research (MClinRes/MRes) programme.

This online course is designed for individuals working in health and social care settings who wish to advance their careers in clinical or practice-based research, clinical and academic practice, or academic research with a strong professional practice component. It has been designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct and manage research in various health and social care settings.

All coursework is electronically submitted by students and is marked online. External examiners will be required to use the online moderating process. User guides and support will be available.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Working in a UK HEI with no formal educational links with the University of Manchester in the last 5 years
  • Master’s Degree or above in an area related to health and social care
  • Direct experience in teaching and assessing research methods units and modules.

Desirable:

  • Research and publications in related areas
  • Ph.D

How to apply

University appointments for external examiners are normally for a period of four years.
Appointments will be made in accordance with the University of Manchester’s guidance for External Examiners.

Interested candidates should detail their experience in teaching and assessing the applicable subjects.
